A book, a film, and a controversy!

Its disgusting from the part of Mr.Aamir Khan to whine like an ignorant second grade kid and bark for the credit, making baseless statements ignoring the reality, something which we really don't expect from a gentleman's part, not even considering to mention about the author of the work he adopted now to his new flick '3 Idiots'. Even a little kid knows the whole plot is from the book of Chetan Bhagat's FPS (Five Point Someone).

I have read that book about an year ago, where I felt the work was really good. I feel its the book that made the non-readers of India into readers. It can be better called as a revolutionary work. And here, I support Chetan on his claims, as the very plot is same in the movie and the book. The plot is the most difficult part of story writing and after coping the plot from the book, the author has to be given credit. I felt almost 70% similarity to the stuff with Chetan's book, and it is shameful from the part of its makers to claim the stuff as original.

Anyhow Mr.Aamir khan has disgraced himself by calling the film as original. If one cares to read the book and also see the movie, one can find the similarities in the story line. Of course there are differences and that is natural. Chetan Bhagat is an author par excellence and does not need cheap publicity via a bollywood movie. Chetan and Aamir both being creative personalities ought to be on the same side of this spat. Only hope is that Aamir will eventually get down to reading the book to resolve the issue. And don't expect others sharing the stage with Aamir to be decent and truthful anyway. Thats what Vidhu Vinod Chopra has done yesterday. Shameful !

Must say, if the movie as a whole was made 'completely' based on FPS, it would have been awesome. The manipulation the makers of the film have made has destroyed an outstanding script into something like a shameful and aweful 'One-Man-Show'!
